Lehigh Tire’s building at Broad and Vine streets in Hazleton originally served as home to Schultz’s Garage in 1926. Cars, bikes, and appliances were sold there, with tire recapping – now known as retreading – performed upstairs.

John Baran III and his wife, Mary, opened their tire and automotive center, as Lehigh Service and Supply, in the Schultz building in 1960.The business was a family partnership among the Barans, their sons, and a cousin. Members of the Baran family have been partners in Lehigh Tire ever since.

The business was renamed and incorporated in 1992, reflecting its service as Lehigh Tire Company Inc. We began a wholesale business in 1993. Tire prices at Lehigh Tire always include installation, computerized wheel balancing, and disposal of old tires.
