Whether you're driving five minutes to the grocery store or ten hours to your vacation destination, you depend on your brakes along the way. Every stop sign and red light in town will require you to step on the brake pedal and bring your vehicle to a safe halt.
All this braking has an effect on the pads and rotors. Each time you stop, a part known as the caliper squeezes the brake pad against the rotor. The friction between the two causes the rotor to slow, and in turn, slows your tires and wheels.
Each time the brake pad clamps onto the brake rotor, both parts experience wear from use. In time, you'll need to replace your brake pads and rotors to continue stopping safely.
Some motorists only need to replace the brakes once during the life of their vehicle, while others may need to replace brake parts twice or more. Many factors come into play in determining when to change your brake parts, including: how much stop and go traffic you experience, how much you drive, and even environmental factors.
At Lehigh Tire, we're asked to perform a decent amount of brake work throughout the year. With so many motorists on the road and the demands of frequent stopping for traffic in and around our area, it's not an uncommon service to see here or in other parts of the country. That's why it makes our list of top five automotive services.

When you bought your car, it came with the wheels aligned at angles the manufacturer determined optimal for your make and model.
It's possible to knock your wheels out of alignment over time and from driving. Misalignment can happen due to suspension parts aging or even from hitting pot holes hard.
Noticeable alignment problems include irregular tire wear and tracking problems. If the tracking is off, your vehicle may have a tendency to drift to the left or right when you're trying to stay straight in a lane. You may find yourself "fighting the steering wheel," or you may notice the steering wheel is off-center.
At Lehigh Tire, we can check you alignment and realign your wheels. We perform two-wheel alignments and four-wheel alignments.
"CV" is short for Constant Velocity. The CV axle, CV joints, and driveshaft are part of what's known as the drivetrain, a group of parts that deliver power to the wheels. These parts play a crucial role in drivability. You may need a repair if your hear a clicking sound as you turn or upon acceleration or deceleration. Vibrations, a knocking sound, and difficulty turning are also signs there may be a problem with one of these parts. AtLehigh Tire, we specialize in CV axle, joint, and driveshaft repair. We'll locate and repair the issue, ensuring your vehicle drives like it should.
